The football fan who hosted a party that ended with three of his friends dead at his Kansas City rental property was “asleep on the couch” for two days while their loved ones frantically tried to contact him, his lawyer said.
David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38, and Clayton McGeeney, 36 had gathered at a house rented by Jordan Willis on the afternoon of Jan. 7 to watch their favorite football team play their last game of the regular season.
The three visitors were found dead at the NW 83rd Terrace home two days later, and only after the fiancée of one of the victims broke into his home and found the bodies, according to a friend’s Facebook post.
“He was asleep. He was asleep on the couch. The last memory he has is of them leaving [out] the front door, he doesn’t know what happened, um, with them, until you know, when the police came Tuesday night to his house,” Willis’ lawyer John Picerno told The Post about the Missouri mystery.
He added that Kansas City investigators had said there was no foul play and were not investigating his client in connection with the bizarre and inexplicable deaths.

Or WAY too much alcohol.
Don’t do meth, Seth.
What are friends for if not for dying on their lawn?
We have a winner.
Too soon?
“Kansas City investigators had said there was no foul play and were not investigating his client in connection with the bizarre and inexplicable deaths.” However, they concluded that they were fat, drunk, and stupid.
I blame Taylor…
We had a case where one Saturday a woman walked away from home (sans phone and wallet) and they found her 4 miles away frozen in a shed. She was a school teacher with 3 kids no less.
The only clue was in court the previous Friday for a Felony Drug related DUI a month before. She probably had her license revoked so she was walking.
My guess is she had to score some drugs but couldn’t handle the 5 degree temperatures that weekend.
Who sleeps for 2 days?
Killer stuff.
Even I would notice 3 dead guys on my back porch after a day or so.
Betting the homeowner would be dead also if he had been trapped outside. They were all likely similarly intoxicated.
I sure hope the Kansas City team won the game.
Were they vaxxed?
I can see someone partying all the day of the game with his buddies. Then they walk out the door to go home and he passes out on the sofa. He has a major hangover for the next day, the weather is cold and miserable, so he sleeps it off for the following day while getting up only to go to the restroom and get something to drink.
However, two days seems a bit much. And, why wasn’t he answering the phone calls? When I was young and foolish, I shook off a hangover after an hour or two. Smartened up when I was older and cut back on the alcohol.
Meanwhile, instead of going home the drunk friends decide to sit in the back yard and look at the sky and talk about the game. Being drunk, they finally pass out and freeze to death
I go days without looking in my back yard. There could be a few bodies there now and I wouldn’t know it. Come to think of it I should go check.
Good question.
We do our share of drinking, more than our share, and have for many years. Don’t ever remember any of use being “asleep on the couch for 2 days”!
They are trying to paint him as a cold hearted, callous individual for that.
How would he know? It’s not like if he found them after one day they’d be any less dead. Probably a few hours in the cold and they were goners anyways.
Who wastes their life away watching football anyway?
24 hour rule, and may require much longer to get to the bottom of this one. Ironically, the biggest loadie may have been the survivor.
