I think the biggest shock I had recently was the p[rice of laundry detergent.
It’s gone though the roof and now they are offering quart sizes to be able to advertise them for $2.50 per bottle, when it used to be almost double the quantity.

A metric we can all relate to. I’ve got a few indicators, the price of Campbell’s Tomato Soup at my local big name grocer being one. Cheaper, of course, elsewhere, but a good metric nonetheless (?), I think.
