Benny Hill was born 100 years ago today.

Washington and Lee University is celebrating Martin Luther King Day.
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
George Orwell, 1984.
I was born 72 years ago today and I’ll sue the 💩 out of any paper that reports it. I’m trying to forget it and slow the time passing down. 😜
They missed Robert E. Lee’s birthday (January 19) too.
In 1842, Jackson was accepted to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Because of his inadequate schooling, he had difficulty with the entrance examinations and began his studies at the bottom of his class. Displaying a dogged determination that was to characterize his life, he became one of the hardest working cadets in the academy, and moved steadily up the academic rankings. Jackson graduated 17th out of 59 students in the Class of 1846.[20] General Daniel Harvey Hill later remembered that Jackson's peers at West Point had said of Jackson, "If the course had been one year longer he would have graduated at the head of his class".
Imagine bringing Stonewall 200 years forward to 2024.
He would be simply amazed at what we have turned into as a country. He would have streamed some TV shows for sure.
Great man. My 3x grandfather served under him early in the war (Romney Expedition) with Co. H, 1st TN Infantry Reg.
“The time for war has not yet come, but it will come and that soon; and when it does come my advice is to draw the sword and throw away the scabbard.” - General Jackson
Dixie's Land (aka Dixie)--The Metropolitan Mixed Quartet (1916)
Thankfully he was on the losing side.
Would be better if his side had won the war.
Ping. I see you haven’t been around for a couple of years. Hope you are doing well.
Best General of the South.
I really liked his song “Waterloo”
You expected to see something?
Love Gen Jackson: a great role model of a commander.
