The Aztecs generally consumed chocolate as a hot drink made with water and cayenne powder.

I have used coffee to thin out a pot of chili before. It's different. I will have to give the cocoa powder a try the next time I make a batch.

My daughter mixes cocoa, hot milk and chili piquine.
She does add some sugar.
I tend to like it, too.

(I won a local chili contest with my choco-chili. I named it “Bagster’s Want”.)
