I watched Strickland win the belt in Australia. When the UFC goes out of country most of the fights include one or both local fighters so the US guys were getting a lot of flak from the crowd. Several US victors egged on the crowd with at least two fighters referring to them as bundles of sticks. With that context I figured if Strickland won it would be an epic rant of a victory interview. Instead he was humble, gracious, and appreciative of the crowd. My point is that I first thought the provocative interviews to be for show but it turns out he really does just speak his mind.
