Is cholesterol actually shown to be a good predictor of hear health?

I know that it is not the predictor your doctor may tell you. And I have a good friend right now losing his mind and will eventually go into dementia if he doesn't quit the statins.

Statins aren’t shown to improve overall mortality. But if you want to brag about low cholesterol, it might help your bragging.

My husband is diabetic- as a matter of course their cholesterol ratios are off. I found out about 6 years ago- by chance- that his endocrinologist had him on Crestor and was dosing him keeping his TOTAL friggin cholesterol below 100 for almost SEVEN YEARS!! I believe he has brain damage (or I married a moron and didn’t notice until then)

Sorry to hear that, but yep, winds up that the brain NEEDS cholesterol and as noted elsewhere on this thread, no evidence exists that lower cholesterol leads to a lengthened life expectancy.
