A Chicago man has been charged with stealing a car on the North Side while wearing an ankle monitor for two additional stolen motor vehicle cases he has picked up since last March. Jonathan Curtis, 19, is now jailed as a public safety threat and a flight risk in two of the three cases.
North Riverside cops arrested Curtis on March 2, saying he struck one of their patrol cars with a stolen Jeep Cherokee and also possessed a loaded firearm, according to court records. After appearing before Judge Sheree Henry, he posted a $500 bail deposit and went home on an ankle monitor the next day.
Two months later, Judge Geary Kull ordered the sheriff’s office to remove Curtis’ ankle monitor.
And, two months after that, on July 13, cops arrested Curtis for allegedly possessing a stolen Toyota Camry in the 600 block of North Lorel. Prosecutors charged him with possessing a stolen motor vehicle and fleeing and attempting to elude.
...
Judge Kelly McCarthy held him in lieu of a $6,000 bail deposit, which kept him in jail until his case was reviewed after the elimination of cash bail in September. He went home on an ankle monitor in October.
Just over two months later, on December 28, Chicago police officers allegedly saw Curtis enter a Hyundai Elantra that its owner left running in the 5500 block of North Campbell. They followed the car until Curtis got out in the 1600 block of North Juneway Terrace, according to a CPD report.
The report said he returned to the vehicle about 30 minutes later, and they tried to pull him over, but he sped through two red lights, so the officers ended the pursuit.
Curtis’ ankle monitor GPS records show he was “present at the exact date and time of both the motor vehicle theft and the eluding incident,” according to a CPD report.
Officers arrested him to face charges in the third case earlier this month after he appeared at the Maywood courthouse for the North Riverside matter. He’s charged with aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle and aggravated fleeing.
His next court dates in the three cases are January 24, January 25, and February 2.
What country did he migrate in from?
Maybe he doesn’t speak english?
The solution is simple. He’s stolen three cars? Put three ankle monitors on him.
God forbid he should be put in jail.
I like the movie where they put exploding necklaces on criminals.

Is anyone surprised.
Think about this folks-—
When criminals are released to commit more crimes, then the Prosecuting Attorneys are busy dealing with repeat criminals and do not have any time to prosecute illegal aliens who register to vote.
I believe this is the Democrat gameplan.
“What country did he migrate in from?”
Looks to be somewhere in Central Africa.
Castrate him. He is too stupid to be allowed to reproduce (any further).
At least the guy is consistent.
Right.
Prolly thousands of amish migrating into chi town from northeast indiana.
Big buggy caravan staging up in elkhart now.
Don’t judge him, maybe he was practicing for the 2024 Chicago Street Race. He saw Shane VanGisburn winning the first Chicago Street Race, so he was practicing and hoped someone would sign him.. 🤓
Is he working on his street cred for his upcoming rap album?
And there will be idiotic girls attracted to criminal thugs.
Chicago’s a democrat hellhole city... they protect the freedom of criminals.
Only if you attach the ankle monitor to a large, iron ball.
More of Satan's fr'kn animals running loose the world! As the nation's government and public schools try to remove God from our people's lives... they open the door to Satan and we now see so many of his animals running loose in the world. And they're trying to take over our kids lives at young age and then eventually our nation! FOLLOWERS OF SATAN!!
I can remember when I was at U of Chicago hearing about a car theft ring of 12 year olds who had to put blocks on the pedals of the cars they stole so they could reach them. Ah, the ambition of childhood.
ROR up to 2nd Degree Murder.
Welcome to Illinois.
