The mainstream media is assiduously ignoring a fascinating story: German farmers are doing what Dutch farmers did last year; namely, rising up in a massive protest against their country’s globalist, climate change policies. With luck, these protests will have the same outcome, which was a massive shift to conservativism in the Dutch government during the last election.
Modern Germany is, in some ways, a very weird country thanks to the legacy of WWII. Its citizens have grown up in the shadow of their collective guilt for the Holocaust, along with the 80 million or so other deaths the Nazi war sparked. They are, in many ways, a very self-apologetic, self-loathing people.
In part to make up for their collapsing birth rate and in part to atone for their sins in the 1930s and 1940s, Germany has been inviting Muslims in since the 1960s, starting with relatively Westernized Turks and now including barely civilized Middle Easterners and Afghanis. They’ve always seemed blind to the irony of atoning for the Holocaust by inviting in the only people who hate Jews more than the Nazis did.

This dichotomy means that Germany has two weird trends currently happening. On the one hand, thanks to the increasing Islamization of Germany, there’s rising antisemitism. On the other hand, Germany is one of the few nations outside of the U.S. that is standing with Israel now that South Africa (a genocidally anti-white nation) has charged Israel with genocide for fighting back against the Hamas forces that have as their stated goal the death of all Jews. Yes, it’s factually confusing, although morally quite clear.
The other thing that’s weird about Germany is its leftism. Despite electing allegedly center-right governments over the years, Germany is, in fact...

And we are doing the same sort of thing to please those who want to see us destroyed.
No...not really.
The German farmer protest is completely about the diesel fuel subsidy that ‘existed’ and was wiped out when the Constitutional Court said the supplemental budget of 2021 (for Covid stuff)...could not be used for farmer subsidy situations.
One the government figures out how much support that the public offers to the farmer agenda (running around 60 to 65 percent in public opinion)....the subsidy will be reinvented in some fashion...by screwing over some group or agenda.

True that. But it’s worth noting that the center-left parties are trying to deny the prime ministership to conservative candidate Geert Wilders. And it looks like they will be successful.
Perhaps the next election will put Wilders over the top. But that election is long off.
Part of me would like to see the farmers just sit out a season or two and let the liberal cities starve to death. Let the, oh so wise liberals, in big cities who know best how to rule the food supply grow their own food in their luxury apartments in New York, Copenhagen, Berlin, and Seattle.
“They are, in many ways, a very self-apologetic, self-loathing people.”
Japan took the opposite approach, which was to ignore their WW2 past.
But who comes out ahead? Germany’s guilt has become suicidal-level where, in 30 years, they will either be a Muslim country, or they will have another bloodbath in their history to deal with. Japan’s only probably is their low birthrate - and no, it doesn’t take a civil war to solve it - it only takes turning back the clock so women can better be ‘encouraged’ to play their proper role in society.
We also allowed Japan to keep their emperor.
If we had done the same with The Kaiser after WWI, there would have been no Hitler.
