Cannabis users who contracted Covid-19 had better outcomes and reduced mortality compared to people who do not use marijuana, according to new research presented at a conference in Hawaii this week. A presentation on the study, which was conducted through a review of the medical records of more than 320,000 individuals, was delivered on Wednesday at the annual meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) in Honolulu.
“Marijuana smokers had better outcomes and mortality compared to non-users,” the authors of the study wrote in their conclusion. “The beneficial effect of marijuana use may be attributed to its potential to inhibit viral entry into cells and prevent the release of proinflammatory cytokines, thus mitigating cytokine release syndrome.”
To conduct the study, a team of researchers analyzed data on 322,214 patients from the National Inpatient Sample, a U.S. government database that tracks hospital use and outcomes.

Most were brainwashed by the Government decades ago to see pot as BAD (due to lobbying from the alcohol industry and private prison firms) but the TRUTH is finally out now by sheer will of the people - and the SUPPORT OF DONALD TRUMP who said he knows close friends who need this God-given medicine.
It’s only because they were too high and chillaxing to go get the vaccine in the first place.
Hard to catch covid when you spend all your time in your mom’s basement. And God-given medicine? Get a grip there, Shaggy.

LOL
Potent Medicine? Smoke dope if you want to, but don’t tell me it’s good for you. All the people I knew who used it the most died before their time and I am not just talking a few. Many from cancer.
There are exceptions. My brother and sister-in-law have been smoking the stuff for over 50 years and they seem to function just fine, in fact, last summer he showed me his garden where he had a few plants growing. Quite well, as a matter of fact.
I haven’t smoked the stuff in over 40 years, for a lot of reasons. I didn’t like how it affected me mentally, the cost, among others.
I also know that it didn’t seem to help them much when they had COVID.
I remember them saying the same thing about smoking regular cigarettes helped with Covid.
ROTFL!
What is really needed is a pill that makes old people younger.
Maybe it’s because cannabis users are more likely to be younger and younger people in general had better COVID outcomes.
Yet all medicines have drawbacks, especially those that have psychoactive effects like marijuana. There are numerous credible medical studies around the world and free from US domestic politics that document the substantial harm that marijuana often does. Teens and those with or prone to mental disorders are the most susceptible. Whatever else the country lacks, we do not need more teen schizophrenics.
And, while the feds do sometimes lock up grandmothers who are marijuana users, it is usually because they get caught for trafficking and have substantial prior criminal records. Contrary to the common assumption, gray hair and marijuana use does not confer sainthood.
This happy smoke study wasn’t just a normal study. It was a M-A-S-S-I-V-E study. Heh.
I have a severe case of COVID now! Been sick over a week. Bring me some smoke...
I don’t smoke pot and I didn’t get the shot. Never had covid.
Gave me the munchies.
And Willie Nelson made it to 90.
Nicotine is a natural anti-viral - many who quit smoking end up with a period of having more colds, etc...
Mega-data studies are ALWAYS wrong. Check who did the study. These studies always have an agenda and it’s easy to cherry-pick from various studies to get any result you want. The least credible thing in the modern world? “Science.”
“...a team of researchers analyzed data on 322,214 patients...”
This study really shows me that with the legalizing of MJ in so many places there are more users, period.

prolly ‘cause they weren’t paying too much attention to all the nonsense
