I joined Nextdoor to see if there were any good deals I could find, also to stay informed about local issues.
Instead of a normal community, I found a bunch of wrinkled psychotic Karens. I made a joke or two and immediately was set upon by some sociopath chick who told me (publicly and privately in Nextdoor email) that I needed mental health help, and that I was a very evil, very bad person. She called me every name in the book, and ranted at me for about two pages of insane text.
I reported this crazy lady using the Report feature, and asked her politely never to contact me again.
The next time I tried to log on, I found I was banned.
Nexrtdoor.com is a ghetto version of the old Twitter, with banning policies that have absolutely no consistency or reason, and who is populated by shrill psychotic old ladies looking for a reason -- any reason -- to jump you.
GUNSHOTS STARTLED THE FERAL CAT IVE BEEN FEEDING FOR 11 YEARS! IT TURNED MY CAT INTO A COYOTE AND IT STOLE MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND PACKAGES!!!! Also I have a half-used jar of mayonnaise for sale if anyone wants it. Nothing wrong with it, it’s just not for me. NO LOWBALLERS.
Along with the various negatives described here, I found Nextdoor to be difficult to navigate on my phone...takes forever to get to the comments. I was also censored multiple times by the Marxist algorithm for what I consider very tame comments. Not banned yet, but I simply don’t use it anymore.
Oh yeah! I’ve been in ND jail many times for just speaking the truth.
Yikes!
Next-door is infested with liberal maggots… They all suck and unfortunately these are our neighbors! At least we know who to keep an eye on when the sh*t hits the fan…
“The founder, Nirav Tolia...”
“Nirav Tolia” - Indian.
Amazing how many companies are run by Indians nowdays!

They’ve also turned the table on Britain. Brits used to rule India, now Indians rule Britain.
And there’s an Indian who’d like to run the US too.
An explanation for this is that most Indians who emigrated come from the upper castes, which have a significantly higher than average IQ.
You’re just upset cause they weren’t impressed with your little weiner.
I just think they are better educated and had more money than others.
I am careful what I say on Nextdoor....but I think in my area it’s useful for crime reporting. Neighbors notify everyone about suspicious cars, activity, etc and I’ve noticed that some are shocked at increasing and bold crime and don’t object when some brave person says elections have consequences.
Besides that I sold a chair for $850 on Nextdoor - neither Craig’s list nor offer up worked.
I figured they'd freak out more to see someone wearing a MAGA hat.
Huh...?
Nextdoor is much better than it used to be. It’s all about porch pirates and suspicious vehicles.
Most of the Karens are gone, at least in my neighborhood.
I think it depends on your area.
Mine is chock-filled with crazy old ladies.
“Our town’s has turned into basically a place where people beg for money. Presumably most of these are fakes, just grifting along, but some may be real. At any rate, when you just what to know which electrician to use and instead you’re reading some poor soul’s life and death story, it tends not to make you want to go back.”
I have been on my local Nextdoor for about a month. Lot’s of people asking for money and other things. Some useful local government info, local services and food. Lot’s of ads and endless lost dogs and cats. It’s a mixed bag so far.
That's about 90% of my Nextdoor feed. And posts about gunshots from the people who are posting from St. Louis City.
All I ever see are lost dogs and cats.
Nextdoor is like a poison HOA. Avoid.
I got lucky. I got banned.

Same here. Money for Christmas presents, links to their gofundme accounts and outright scams.
I was house sitting for a relative some years ago in coastal LA. The relative wanted me to sign up for ND to be on the lookout for coyotes in the neighborhood. I declined. If it was for cougars I might have signed up.
