I owned timex watches before I got a cell phone. Afterwards I didn’t need two time pieces with me. In the 80s and nineties not only did timex watches not break, but they kept pretty much perfect time.
Nothing keeps better time than my iPhone though.

This story nonwithstanding, the iPhone is, by a wide margin, the most important consumer product ever invented. Especially when you consider all the functionality contained within it. Yes, it also makes phone calls!
Those who disagree are welcome to name the consumer product that they feel is more important than the iPhone.

I consider the iPhone and Android basically the same type of device. Should have made that more clear or used the more generic “smartphone” for the device.
