Wei Fenghe, a former defense minister who used to head the Rocket Force, has also vanished.

Probably forced retirement. Or assumed room temperature. Either/or.

So US unintelligence let the Cat out of the bag so China could correct these issues? Or is the whole story BS? If not, I guess I know who SOD Austin has been calling during his downtime.

Maybe their theory of rocket propulsion comes from those small plastic toys that we had as kids—fill them up with water, pump up with air, and launch...

I’ll give the ChiComs credit for one thing. When something goes bad, someone must pay. It might not be the right guy. But someone must pay.

Contrast that with our debacle in Afghanistan. We abandoned huge amounts of material. And we abandoned those Afghanis who allied with us. No matter. It’s business as usual. Our folks at the top suffered not. They kept their prestige and their pensions.

And yes, General Milley. I’m looking right at you.

Military corruption? The entire country runs on corruption. Why is that a surprise?

What our gruberment talks of is what they do themselves.
The term escapes me, but the degradation of our military does not.

Another take on this story (it’s a fake story put out by Xi to obfuscate the real reasons for the purges in his military):

Revealed by U S intelligence??? That must have been a shoutout to Xi, to let him know that he needed to check on the reliability of missiles aimed at the United States.

In more patriotic times, U S intelligence would have chuckled and let the situation continue.

“they’d mistakenly filled missiles with water instead of fuel”

Sure, it was a mistake. It’s not like the generals were selling fuel to line their own pockets like Russian officers were doing before the Ukraine invasion. That would be ridiculous!

China's recent 'purge' of several top Army officials came after an embarrassing mishap where they'd mistakenly filled missiles with water instead of fuel, according to United States intelligence.

Traitor Joe couldn't wait to fill his chicom masters in on this, so now their missiles are again ready to destroy US cities.

Just a wild thought — Perhaps those generals didn’t want Xi to start a war and thus did the sabotage deliberately...or wanted to make sure they lost in a possible nuclear ICBM exchange.

Pentagon officials and “experts” are telling the press that the import of the twin tales is that China is weak and cannot fight. Yet the sources “familiar with” the intelligence say they cannot validate the information they provided Bloomberg.

The leaked “intelligence” that Bloomberg cites as its ultimate source leads inexorably to major questions. Under close examination the claims cited in the report seem to be fake.

The story is technically naive when it comes to China’s missiles. China does not keep its liquid-fueled rockets filled with propellant. This means they are empty sitting in silos. If fuel was stored in a rocket booster the internal tanks and plumbing would soon be ruined by corrosion. The military fuels them if there are warning conditions requiring loading the missiles with fuel.

There would be no reason to put water in the missiles unless it was deliberate sabotage. If it was deliberate sabotage China would not just be purging this or that official, they would have been arrested, tried and shot. - https://asiatimes.com/2024/01/water-in-chinese-missiles-tanks-is-a-fake-story/
