An excellent choice. I started learning about WW2 as a boy reading my dad's copy of United States Destroyer Operations in World War II from the Naval Institute Press. I devoured it.

In college I picked up History of the Second World War by B. H. Liddell Hart. It is the definitive history of WW2 in one volume. My copy is signed by Lady Liddell Hart. The Liddell Harts were good friends of my professor Dr. James Leutze. Lady Liddell Hart visited Chapel Hill my senior year and I got to meet her.

I have both books on the shelf in my office.
