They ‘discovered’ a hole in 1978.
As I like to ask my pro-climate change acquaintances, “Maybe the ‘hole’ has always been there?”

The ozone hole -- I explained that to a professor back in the middle 1980s. I wasn't trying to convince him, just the other students standing around listening. It's a religion.

Hot air rises at the equator; cold air falls at the poles. That falling cold air at the poles is turbulent, like the reverse of a hurricane or typhoon at times, enough to mix all the lighter atmospheric gasses in with the heavier ones.

After the air falls, it disperses outward until it gets north of the Ferocious Fifties of latitude, where calmer seas and winds exist. Then the lighter gasses can again begin rising to their natural level (or rather the heavier gasses congregate at sea level, and displace the lighter ones upward).

This is basic weather. The Climate Goons aren't capable of wrapping their heads around such simple concepts. They got snake oil to be selling.
