It reminds me of Med basin ancient gorgon coin designs, but instead may have been influenced by other Asian cultures’ dragon faces.

It does have a look like that but I can’t figure out how the buckle went in and out of that hole.

Which btw the shape of that hole reminds me of those hellmouths they made in that same period of time. Kind of a pussycat mouth shape. I wonder if there was an influence there?
