DOJ has spent more than $23M investigating Trump, $6.4M probing Biden

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s two investigations into former President Donald Trump have cost taxpayers more than $23 million - while the Justice Department probe into President Biden’s classified documents case has so far cost about $6.4 million.

The figures, revealed in DOJ expenditure reports released Friday, account for the spending by the respective special counsels between April 1, 2023 and Sept. 30, 2023, as well as costs incurred by other Justice Department agencies related to the probes.

Smith’s statement of expenditures shows the special counsel has spent more than $7.3 million on compensations and benefits for personnel, travel, rent, supplies, printing and contractual services in the Trump probes.

Other DOJ agencies have incurred expenses totaling $7.2 million assisting Smith with his investigations into the 77-year-old former president, including by providing investigative support analysts and a security detail for the special counsel “when warranted,” the report states.

The special counsel’s first expenditure report, released in July, showed that Smith and other DOJ agencies had spent more than $9 million on the Trump probes from Nov. 18, 2022 through March 31, 2023, putting the known total amount spent on his investigations at more than $23 million.

Smith, appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland last November, has led the investigations into Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and his alleged efforts to interfere with the results of the 2020 election. Grand juries in Florida and Washington, DC, have brought indictments against the former president as a result of both investigations.

In contrast to the Trump probes, the special counsel appointed last January to investigate Biden’s classified documents scandal only spent $2.8 million between April 1, 2023 and Sept. 30, 2023, another DOJ report released Friday showed.

Other DOJ agencies incurred about $2.4 million in additional expenses supporting Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation...

The title should mentions the documents case, because they’ve spent a lot more than that on Trump.

They aren’t probing Biden. It’s to pay staff to keep Investigations open for six years as a Block.

Golfing, brainstorming for the guys assigned to get Trump, Dem causes.

And most of the money spent on the Biden case was lobster lunches and travel and hotel for Hunter.

23 million just tells they couldn’t find anything on Trump and they stopped at 6 million on Biden because they found plenty and needed to go no further

the Justice Department probe into President Biden’s classified documents case has so far cost about $6.4 million.
... and $126 million covering up for Biden. And it has cost the nation $12 trillion and counting.

This is disgusting. I hate it. I hate the people that are performing these investigations. Etc Etc Etc Etc.

Having people like Tim Scott, Graham, Ernst, Thune, Cornyn, and all the rest in the US Senate does those of us on the “Right Side of things” absolutely no good. The voters of this country need to get past the “if you don’t vote for him/her, the Democrat will win” bullsh*t.

They pumped up some Dem against Graham to the tune of $100million, IIRC, scared the bejesus out of SC. Why in the hell was Graham even there? That is the bigger question that needs to be asked and answered.

I believe I read that Crenshaw was in the top 3 of Congress insider trading. Unless he decides not to run, I’ll bet that he wins again.

I could go on, but if the voters keep sending back the same tired, corrupt, POSs that have got us into this mess, absolutely nothing will change and we’ll be headed down an even darker road than the one we’re on.

I’m all about Pres Trump. But if anyone thinks that he’s just going to waive his magic wand and start fixing everything on Day 1, they live in LaLa Land. Will he re-implement his border policies, I’d say 100% YES. Will he begin the largest domestic deportation operation, I’m guessing there will so much opposition and violence that not much will get done on that front. Will he try and defund all the NGOs and confront the UN on all that they’re doing to cause all these immigration problems? Probably, but defunding the NGOs is up to Congress, as he found out when he tried to do it during his presidency.

So, be ready for a very, very rough ride and stop deluding yourself that ‘someone else will take care of it’ when that shi*t lands on your doorstep.

Drill, drill, drill ends all war on earth.

The Biden administration is the most anti-business admin in US history.

Little reason exists to expect anything but peace and prosperity relatively quickly.

And what about the 3,000,000 or more that will come over the border between now and Pres Trump’s inauguration?

What will be your role in the deporting of, probably 10-12 million illegals, most of whom legally received asylum from the current administration? I know. Someone else will do that.

Lets see, most of those coming over are men. But, lets say that 25% are women and all of them pop out a kid between now and Jan2025. You know, they call those kids citizens. I’m sure you are aware.

Someone else will take care of that. Maybe all the oil that will come from....Drill, Drill, Drill

Yup, I’m sure all that drilling will take care of the problem.

$200,000,000,000,000 in debt/unfunded obligations yet there is nothing in existence that threatens the USD.

As in 2016, Trump is just about free rolling-

he’ll be taking over from an administration that almost could not possibly do a worse job across the board.

Doom sells books, gets clicks is nothing new or novel-the warning on a site full of doomsdayers though is entertaining!

The reality is you warned me-which is wholly unnecessary.

Free rolling? The only President since Bush2 and the moron in office now that wanted a budget produced so they could negotiate. He never got one because they know they sell ‘doom’ and scare the sh*t out of everyone that the government will shut down and everything will implode. They learned that around 2005 when Bush2 needed money for the GWOT. If he wanted money for his wars then they get what they want, as well.

Congress, Republicans and Democrats, knew they had Pres Trump, so they continued on with their CRs and Omnibus’ and they’re the ones that kept the ‘free rolling’ going.
