Air defense forces destroyed 87 out of 90 “shaheds” on New Year’s Eve - Air Forces

On New Year’s Eve 2024, the enemy used a record number of Shahed attack UAVs. The attack was carried out in waves from four directions: Cape Chauda, Balaklava - Crimea, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - Russia.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
A total of 90 enemy Shahed-136/131 drones were launched. The enemy also fired four S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles at Kharkiv region, three X-31P anti-radar missiles and one X-59 from the TOTs of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
In most regions of Ukraine, air alerts were announced along the route of the drones.
In fact, air defense was operating in all regions. The air attack was repelled by mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, fighter aircraft and anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force.
