I wish FSU had been chosen for the BCS for the simple reason that they still would have played without the 22 starters and shown what a farce the BCS and the player portal really are.......

That possibility is there. But they would have had a reason for those starters to play and they might have.
There will come a time when opting players for reasons like this in the NCAA may act like their pro counterparts that do not want to get hurt in a bowl game and kill their chances at big bucks in the NFL. Being part of a team that wins a BCS is not a big single player resume talent entry they haven’t already displayed. The rest is earned at the combine and which agent can get them the best deal. It’s all about the buck.
