A man who answered his door was shot and killed by gunmen inside a Northeast Philadelphia townhome while his family members were inside, investigators said.
On Thursday shortly before 11:30 p.m., police responded to the Regency Townhomes on the 3500 block of Woodhaven Avenue for several reports of a person with a gun and gunshots.
When police and medics arrived, they found 33-year-old Bilal Henry on the floor inside a townhome a few feet from the front door. Henry was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso and was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m.
Investigators also found several spent shell casings both outside and inside the townhome. In all, at least 13 shots were fired from a semiautomatic weapon or weapons, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Criminals are getting pretty brazen these days.
I expect that the current state of the “justice” system has a lot to do with it.
Even so, I see stories like this and think I need to up my doorbell cam game.
There was a recent story where a guy opened his door, dude forces his way in and starts beating the crap out of the resident. Wife comes downstairs and saves the day, emptying a revolver into the attacker. All caught on camera! Indoor cam surveilling the inside of the front door.
If that guy had a doorbell cam, he might have avoided a butt-whipping.
Not everybody has a Ring type camera, and even then, do you always check first?
Who the heck answers the door at 11:30 PM???

Things like this are why I have an 89 pound American Bulldog, American Staffordshire Terrier, German Shepherd cross along with a big gun to back him up. He has a bark like a pistol report and always detects visitors.
The police RESPONDED at 11:30 pm.
The crime probably happened at 7:30 pm.
I don’t even answer my door to salesmen much less gunmen.
