Brillant marketing although personally not a big fan of the Strawberry pop tart. Would have preferred cinnamon or chocolate fudge.

Slathered in melted butter. The healthy option.

Pop Tarts just nailed everything from a marketing standpoint. The trophy is amazing.

They are a couple of real “Pop” Tarts although Tater originally started out as country.

College football is quickly going the way of the NFL. ::spit::

Participation trophy bowl games by the dozens. The top players abandon their teams to chase the money. Saw them interview a State linebacker who bailed on his teammates to “prepare” for the draft. He was talking about how wonderful his teammates were. Haha, okay, right. As he stands on the sidelines in street clothes while his “teammates” get pounded. I’m sure, in private, the teammates weren’t quite as welcoming.

And then the announcers put on game-long, clown show of promotional pitches for the bowl game sponsor. The game is the greatest Pop Tart Duke’s Carquest Scooter’s Go Bowling Roofing Cricket Bowl EVER played! And every player who crosses the screen as the next Red Grange. This guy is a fierce defensive end who teams do not want to face! Oh, well he is playing for a team that is 6-7 but this guy...

And it doesn’t take a genius like Norman Einstein to see how much “influence” the fellas in Vegas and corporate money have on the games. But the sell goes on. It’s all about the sell.

Bowl games are all about promotion of the sponsor, this was clever and well done.

I can see where this leads. A Taco Mascot from Taco Bell sponsoring the WNBA Championship.

Your rant isn’t wrong, but at least this one was fun. And better than a tub of nasty mayo dumped on the coach.

Check plus for the Norman Einstein reference...

If you went to a bowl game named after (sponsored by) a toaster strudel, congratulations on your participation trophy.

One of these days Waste Management is going to sponsor a bowl game.

I wonder what their trophy will look like.

I don't think I've ever heated a Poptart. Always eat them straight outta the bag.

The good news...they didn't eat the Poptart into the shape of a gun. There would've been a stadium full of freaked out, frightened people, trampling each other, heading for the exits.

Is “The Waste Management Phoenix Open” golf tournament close enough?
