Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon needed 21 stitches after suffering lacerations to his face and right shooting hand while being bitten by a family dog on Christmas.
The Nuggets announced in a statement that the 28-year-old Gordon "is in good condition" but will remain away from the team. There's no concrete timeline for his return, but there's optimism that his absence will be short-term, a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Gordon is averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 rebounds for the defending NBA champions. He had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 120-114 win over Golden State on Christmas."He's hanging in there," Nuggets coach Michael Malone said after practice Wednesday. "Obviously, a very traumatic experience and the most important thing I told him is that you take as much time as you need. We're a family -- wins, losses, and when people go through tough times like Aaron's going through right now.

Plus suicide doors. Didn;t know they still made cars with those.
I’m not a sports fan.
That headline read like a Joe Biden speech to me.
Leaving the “F” off of the word “Face” made it more confusing.
Well, he was using an Ace bandage.
Our daughter tried to break up a dog fight between her two pits. She ended up spending two weeks in the hospital.
He’s the ace pitcher of the Nuggets.
Oh no.
I know dogs. For “Family dog” to go off like that on a known family member is certainly not normal. And his injuries seem somewhat severe. I wonder what the whole story is.
Trying to break up a fight between pit bulls is not very smart. Having pit bulls as pets is stupid.
Bit him on the Ace? Now he won’t be able to sit down for a week.
I got bit on the ace once and it hurt like ell.
That's some dog bite.
The only reason you should own them is if you live in South Africa.
A coworker had a friendly old golden retriever with an undiagnosed ear infection. One little pat on the head and the dog went Cujo on him. He needed a lot of stitches to reattach his nostril and a few more on his cheek where the lower teeth got him. The dog got some antibiotics for his ear and he was friendly again in a couple days.
Right. I read the article, but the headline was gobbledygook to this non-sports-fan.
Does your dog bite?
No.
I thought you said your dog doesn’t bite.
It’s not my dog.
She had to put down the older one who was the aggressor. She’s intelligent but not very wise. We love her but she doesn’t always make good decisions.
Kinda like Palestinians...
“Rotweiler. The first dog breed intended to kill humans.”
A breed of dogs called Molossers were used by the Romans for Guard and war dogs. they were sometimes used to fight in formation with the infantry. Romans bred the Rottweiler by crossing the German dogs with their Molossers, not for fighting or gaurd work, but to use as herd dogs to protect and drive their cattle. Later they were used by butchers to drive cattle and pull heavy carts of meat to market.
So maybe you should do a little research before spewing garbage you know nothing about.
Yes, I own and breed Rotties. I can tell you right now that who ever that guy is, he was doing something to or with the dog that triggered the incident. Stupid people win stupid prizes.
