Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon needed 21 stitches after suffering lacerations to his face and right shooting hand while being bitten by a family dog on Christmas.
The Nuggets announced in a statement that the 28-year-old Gordon "is in good condition" but will remain away from the team. There's no concrete timeline for his return, but there's optimism that his absence will be short-term, a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Gordon is averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 rebounds for the defending NBA champions. He had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 120-114 win over Golden State on Christmas."He's hanging in there," Nuggets coach Michael Malone said after practice Wednesday. "Obviously, a very traumatic experience and the most important thing I told him is that you take as much time as you need. We're a family -- wins, losses, and when people go through tough times like Aaron's going through right now.

I couldn’t find anything about the breed, or the circumstances.
To: All
At least it didn’t maul a kid or some stranger walking by.

Or it was Joe Biden’s dog.

21 stitches? That was no “dog bite”. That was a mauling.

Family dogs get very stressed at Christmas. My guess it was not a Chihuahua.

I have no idea who that person is. I assume it’s the guy who got his face bit off. No?

And it’s such a small dog. I wonder what caused the family dog to suddenly use this guy as a chew bone. Seems a bit odd.

I wouldn’t have looked if I hadn’t been wondering about the bite to Ace.

Rotweiler. The first dog breed intended to kill humans.
