Again I suggest to investigate claims about massive Russian losses:

Do a date search and count how many tanks or IFVs destroyed compared to the same period last year.

And what you will see is that Russian vehicle losses are substantially less than last year, even though we are told of massive defeats and casualties in the current offensive.

Thanks, I did check it out, it's an interesting site.
And your basic point is correct, that what the military calls "op-temp", short for "operations tempo", is not today what it was back in the spring or fall of 2022.

Ukraine's 2023 summer offensive was quickly truncated when they learned what everyone in the world, except Russians, already knew -- that you can't do serious offensive operations without at least air dominance, and in Ukraine you will also need very serious mine breaching equipment & explosives.
Otherwise, offensive operations are reduced to "Meat Wave" assaults, which Ukrainians can in no way afford to do.

Reverend Wright: "...we are told of massive defeats and casualties in the current offensive."

The current offensive is by Russians against cities like Avdiivka and Krynke, where they've used "Meat Wave" assaults to gain a mile of territory at the cost of hundreds of Russian dead each day, some days over 1,000.

Ukrainian losses in Russia's "Meat Wave" assaults are said to run in the range of one Ukrainian for up to eight Russians.

Nobody here knows the actual numbers.
