We are now approaching lunar sunrise, and for all the people back on Earth, the crew of Apollo 8 has a message that we would like to send to you.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

On the 50th anniversary of Apollo 8 reading Genesis, I also think about the Pale Blue Dot from Voyager 1. Voyager was about 4 billion miles from Earth, and caught the Earth in a ray of sunlight.
NASA has ‘updated’ the image with newer software, processing techniques. I still prefer the original.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.

I remember watching that live on Christmas Eve thought it was one of the coolest things I’d ever heard and or seen...still think so.
It was all fake.
What's funny about that track is that is supposes that there's no "there" there, save for a vast conspiracy.
Yet from my vantage point, the intel isn't the literal narrative per se, but everything it weaves together as it goes. The names, dates, details -- the total integration over thousands of years that no humans could put together if they tried.
They wouldn't have any idea.
That's why it's not fake even if it's fake, because a certain higher power always gets there first to plaster His sticky prints all over everything.
I have a suspicion that a lot of people won't know what hit them. Caught completely off-guard. Gobsmacked. SPF 5000 wouldn't suffice.
There's never enough popcorn.
