Gen Z college grad Brielle Asero - who went viral after complaining about working a nine-to-five job - reveals she has been LAID OFF from startup and is now broke

The Gen Z college grad who made headlines after tearfully sharing her struggles adjusting to a nine-to-five job on TikTok has recently been laid off with no emergency fund.

Brielle Asero, who lives in New Jersey, revealed that she lost her first post-grad job, a position that took her five months to secure, in a recent video that has garnered over 500,000 views.

'I got laid off from my first post-grad job - the one that took me five months to find, and for which I moved to New York City,' she said, adding that it's not her fault.

The University of South Carolina alum said she doesn't have an emergency fund because 'everything goes toward living expenses, commute, and everything else.'

The layoff comes after she broke down in tears in October, sharing her struggles to find time for a life outside of her four-hour round commute and long workdays.

Our head of HR calls me “The Unicorn”, as my position was so hard to fill. 8 months, 15 interviews, all for an accountant with real estate experience. That was 16 months ago. I’m working more overtime than I ever did at a CPA firm. Next year should be better, we added two more.

Gator and I live in two burbs that are favored destinations for H1-Bs in North Texas: Irving/Valley Ranch and Frisco. Going to Walmart is like going to a market in Mumbai. Assimilation has been declining IMO. Our school district is now 60% South Asian.

I’m not Canadian, and I don’t live in Canada. “Alberta’s Child” is the name of a song. :-O

I live in Appalachia.

The companies I referenced that are desperate for good help are in manufacturing (transportation equipment, steel and aluminum fabrication, and building products), food production, and warehousing/distribution. These are not low-paying part-time jobs, and some of these employers end up using passenger vans to shuttle employees here from 50+ miles away.

Why do you think our highly trained Vets are unemployed and homeless? Because they're lazy bums with poor work ethics?

I have no idea. You’re the one who brought them up. I don’t know any of them. Maybe there are mental health and/or substance abuse issues?

Anyone else see this as a gaslighting effort against traditional American values?

Looks like it takes her half a working day to slather on all that makeup. Perhaps she was in the wrong line of work.

Yep. Get the he🏒🏒 out of any big city, especially blue ones.

Live with Mom and Dad, if you can or share a house or apartment. Living in a small town or rural area is a lot better, even working at Walmart until you find something better.

For the benefit of the Freepers who may be looking, why not share who some of those companies are.

You can look at any IT department or many construction sites to see why vets aren't being hired.

Don’t forget about the Bush family’s Nafta Superhighway and North American Union, selling out their fellow countrymen.

This is why they hate Trump so much. He’s not part of the uni-party and actually cares about main street americans. The self declared elites of both parties view americans as sheep to be slaughtered and sheared as needed.

Had a guy who worked for me. Didn’t do his share of the work and I continually called him out on it. I stated, in these words, if you’d shut your F’n mouth and work you’d have no problems. Couple weeks goes by and I called him into my office. He brings in a spreadsheet for the past couple weeks where he had written down every break, bathroom break, lunch etc. and he drops it on my desk. I said there’s part of your problem, you’re wasting time writing all this shxt down instead of working... He quit right there which is exactly what I was hoping for.

Lot of useless people around. This entitled bitch is just another one.

Romney, Paul Ryan, Newt, Bush family, even Reagan and Rush lectured us constantly about how wonderful Free Trade is - along with the Dems. It was the uni-party position.

This is one of the reasons the deep state MIC hates Trump so much.

But at this point, it’s clear that only foreign nations like China, and the top 1% of Americans benefitted from free trade. Main Street america suffered immensely from it. We were sold out by our “betters”.

Why do you think our highly trained Vets are unemployed and homeless?

That question begs the question, "highly trained in what?"

An increasing amount of military training has no correlation to civilian jobs or careers. Forty years of outsourcing has made sure of that.

Helicopter pilots are a good example. For almost all of them, their last flight in a helicopter was in the military because there just aren't that many civilian helicopter jobs, much less ones that pay well.

Gunners, artillery, and such also have specialized skills that no one wants outside of the reserve unit they may join.

I could not post any clearer.

The all in tax and regulatory burden on full time jobs is insane. It is the GREAT job killer. It has nothing to do with consumer habits. It accelerates automation and outsourcing.

The lump of labour fallacy said doubling the workforce with women will not depress wages. It’s a half a century or whatever later and it not only depressed wages but it is still depressing them.

I know this is so confusing as retaining lagging edge jobs that can be accomplished by 8yo Chinese children is somehow the key to the US economy in economically illiterate lala land.

There are no excuses in this nation. If one can’t make it here-they’re not making it anywhere.

Wuhan was outsourced to get around regulations in 2014. How much money did that save us?

Poor choice in words. They are making it everywhere on our borrowed dollars.

So you think Americans who have 30-50% of their wages taken away in taxes, social security, medicare, etc. before they even get their paychecks should have to compete with illegals that pay no taxes, take cash under the table, and get welfare benefits that Americans are not eligible for since they work?

That effectively allows illegals to work for 1/3 of the wage and have the same standard of living.

But people like you dngaf because you got yours and you only care about “muh corporations”. You don’t care about your fellow Americans trying to survive. You think America should just be a “marketplace” or a “shell corporation” where everyone screws everyone else over in pursuit of the almighty dollar. Well i think that system of crony, corporate MIC “capitalism” is sick and a disease on this nation.

Sounds like California. Corporate and government policy combined to give them America’s better paying jobs. Soon they will elect one of their own as President.
