CNN analyst suggests Biden could 'lose' re-election if he doesn’t stop talking about ‘Bidenomics’

CNN political analyst Errol Louis warned that President Biden will "lose" his re-election bid if he keeps his campaign focused on touting his economic policies, which his administration has dubbed "Bidenomics," if voters "don't perceive" it in time.

During a segment of "CNN This Morning" on Friday, Louis told host Poppy Harlow that Biden needs to drop the Bidenomics talk because the voters aren’t happy with the economy.

"He’s tried to use ‘Bidenomics' because the economy is always the number one issue. The polls are suggesting that’s not necessarily going over very well with people, in part because of inflation, maybe misperceptions about some other things, maybe just an unfortunate lag," he said.

Instead, he advised that Biden should focus on things that have worked for him in the past, like telling the voters how he’ll defend democracy from "threats" like former President Trump.

The discussion began with Harlow mentioning Biden’s recent campaign memo saying that the "threat Donald Trump posed in 2020 to American democracy has only grown more dire since then."

Addressing Louis, she said, "You were indicating earlier in the program, I think if I read you right, this is a really strong political card for Biden. Is it the strongest?"

Louis affirmed it’s Biden’s best play, or at the very least, it's stronger than the economic pitch he’s been trying to give.

Various polls in recent months show that a majority of Americans and a large chunk of Democratic voters are unsatisfied with Biden’s handling of the economy despite the media and the White House stating Biden’s policies are helping.

A bombshell New York Times/Siena College poll conducted in October and released in November found that more than 60% of Americans in battleground states do not have a favorable view of the economy.

“Reaganomics” was a sneer the left came up with when Reagan was running. RR turned it into a positive when his policies turned things around. Bidenmoronic forgets this.

“Bidenomics”... Ugh. I’ll bet that if enough of us began using my term “Bidenalzheimers”, the media would pick it up and PINO Drooling Spoon would eventually start repeating it.

Yeah, right. People will stop noticing increased prices for food, energy, shelter, and consumer goods if you don’t use the term Bidenomics.

He might stop using it but we won’t.

Make him wear it like a South African burning tire.

That hasn't been working that well lately either.

Biden is likely to hold onto his voters by visiting places where he is supposedly making a difference, even if subsidized firms and projects go belly up before the election.

The problem is with the concept "Bidenomics is working." First, it provokes the response that it's not working. It's defensive -- "Oh yeah, Bidenomics is really really working." Second, it calls to much attention to inept Joe, the insecure, incompetent guy who's always trying to prove how important he is.

Do the Dems have anything to run on other than abortion and free stuff? There are millions of people who will vote for those two policies, sadly.

They don’t understand how the real economy affects people day to day. They see the macroeconomic picture, where the usual traditional indicators look good enough, but they don’t see how the individual is faring. EG they applaud the high consumer spending, but they ignore the historic rise in credit card debt which makes it possible; and the rise in people taking “emergency” withdrawals from retirement funds. They ignore the rising delinquency rates on loans of all kinds. They notice that bank deposits are being drawn down but they don’t seem to want to know why. All these things reflect the everyday struggle of the common man under Bidenomics, but they are insulated from them personally, and seem blind to them in others.
