Art demands sacrifices. Like football. Excellence in any physical activity places extreme demands on the body.
The human body has no business doing football or boxing either, but here we are. I don’t get ballet the way my wife does (she was a soloist for a regional company and was offered a contract by National Ballet of Canada), but I can certainly respect it as an art form in which excellence demands sacrifices.
