Is it really ?

DOJ picks the venue, so they can have the jury pool as well as the judge pool that they want.

Volkswagen recalled all the affected vehicles and bought them.

My gut reaction is that this is a shakedown and harassment. More leftist government lawfare.

Yes, mechanically the Dodge/Cummins is surely the best.

But the issue is emissions equipment problems, which is hurting them all.

Current diesel emissions reminds me of the hodge podge that manufacturers were doing in the 1970’s for gasoline engines.

So what’s the harm? It’s like taking a leak in the Atlantic. Cummins must be a republican company.

Diesel engine manufacturer Cummins has been blackmailed for a record $1.675 billion. That kind of money will be passed down to the end user buyer. The price of a HD truck will go way up to pay for this crap.

National Socialism in action.

So ... no one from the CARB, the EPA or DOT was paying attention to the testing for these trucks for a decade?

After all, they were the ones that gave them a passing grade.

Suspect that the gov changed the rules and made them retroactive.

In short, a shakedown.

Volkswagen was doing their customer a favor allowing the BS emission crap to be disabled.

All this emissions crap is just that ... crap.

If everyone were driving Pete 379s with 3406E engines the air would still be just fine.

All this nonsense is gov’t control of production, it should be ignored.

“Cummins must be a republican company.”

Cummins is one of the top DEI companies out there. They must have thought they would get a special pass or something.

My question: what is the fix? I don’t see anything about mandated repair.

I received my recall notice from FCA today. The fix is a software update to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Being as I live in the Socialist Republic of Kalifornia, this will be a mandatory recall for me. The state will require proof of completion of this recall for me to renew my registration. I don't think other states will force compliance.
