I spent most of my career in the energy business (electric power) and we've been hearing this same old song and dance for at least 50 years -- "we need to use less energy in buildings."

The federal government loves to harangue the energy business like no other. I swear if we could magically reduce all building energy consumption to ZERO the bureaucrats would complain that buildings aren't PRODUCING enough energy.

Once you get these behemoth governments, they all need things to do to justify their existence and keep the fat paychecks rolling in. Nothing is ever good enough for them. After they deal with real pollutants like particulate, NOx, and SO2 (which WERE a real problem), they create whole new "pollutants" out of whole cloth. I'm talking about CO2. Then they spin everybody up about "carbon" and et voilà! a whole new "industry" is born.

It is all so predictable, nonsensical, and tiring. Of course, we all know the issue is never the issue; the real issue is the revolution.

Sacramento requires every single town in California to have a “housing element” in their plan to insure that every city, town, village and hamlet has its “fair share” of low-income housing. The focus is on cheap housing for the poor.

But the next big push is more money spent on energy which guarantees no cheap housing can be built.

It’s almost as if these two parts of government don’t talk to each other.

They’re desperate to get so much climate BS passed and are trying to make sure when Biden goes away, there will be way too much crap to unravel when sane people get back in charge of the US. Federal laws, federal regulations, state laws, state regulations, city laws, etc. They know Trump will nuke all the Federal stuff when he gats back in, but they also know that the Feds can’t change state and city climate garbage, so that’s who they will be targeting to pass this garbage until Jan 2025
