Sacramento requires every single town in California to have a “housing element” in their plan to insure that every city, town, village and hamlet has its “fair share” of low-income housing. The focus is on cheap housing for the poor.

But the next big push is more money spent on energy which guarantees no cheap housing can be built.

It’s almost as if these two parts of government don’t talk to each other.

We have the same thing happening with cars and trucks. The NHTSA wants more safety, which usually needs more weight and energy using features, and the EPA wants ever higher CAFE standards.
