A 15-year-old dad-to-be is dead after he was hit by a car that lost control in Sun Valley Saturday night.
The vehicle, which was driven by a 22-year-old man, hit the parked cars and Carlos, who was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead...
Carlos’ family, meanwhile, is mourning the teen, who “was excited to be a dad to his little boy but unfortunately he passed away.”
Flowers were left at the scene of the crash.

“Expectant father?” That could mean several different things in the world we live in now.
“”At 15 I was delivering newspapers on my route after school..................””
LOL And the entire neighborhood was watching to make sure that’s all you did!!!! Nothing was a secret in the small town where I grew up.
As they used to say, “Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed.”
I am sure all of it will go to the mother to be and child. /s
of course!!!
“ was excited to be a dad…”
He doesn’t look to excited on the go fund me page……nor do the donors…
As long as flowers were left at the scene and a GoFundMe was set up. Then it’s all good. That is a step in the healing process. Everyone needs to accept their fate as a billiard ball in a cosmic game of pool...../sarc
“The most consistent belief is that Mary was quite young by today’s standards when she was betrothed to Joseph. It was common in ancient Jewish culture for young girls to be betrothed as early as 12 years old.”
You are correct. While there is no Biblical record of Mary’s age, it was common (i.e. normative) for young women to marry in their early teens in Biblical times.
I have researched this very thoroughly, and there appears to be no specific Biblical standard about minimal ages for marriage. Several passages support the need for mental, spiritual, emotional, and biological maturity. And these factors tend to go with the age of the participants. Also, parental consent was the norm. So, parents decided when their children were “old enough” to be married. This typically involved the man being able to financially support a family and the woman being physically mature enough to bear children.
Marriage is a covenant that must entered into voluntarily (and with the ability to consent) by both parties.
I believe the modern corruption of sexuality has its roots as far back as the 1800s when the “age of consent” standard began to replace the biblical standard of holy matrimony.
Feminism encourages women to pursue the role of men as the breadwinners for the family rather than the nurturers of children.
1 Timothy 5:14 KJV
I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
The context here is how Paul’s mentee Timothy was to treat people in the church as they were distinguished by age and biological sex. (While widows are being discussed, the Greek words for “widows” and “women” are not included in this verse and may be implied.) But I believe that “young women” in scripture would generally be referring to teenage girls. Perhaps girls in their twenties would be included. But life expectancy was in the mid-forties at best. So, young or younger, as relative terms, would not likely apply to women (or men) in their thirties or beyond.
We live in a culture that is full of perversion and sexual promiscuity. Ironically, we are hypersensitive to the horrors of childhood sex abuse. This has led to a denial of the reality of the sexual development of teenagers. As a society, we are pretending that minors under 18 are asexual when this is the furthest thing from the truth. Living in denial opens the door to their sexual exploitation by nefarious groups like Planned Parenthood. They are the targets of the promoters of sexual deviancy and abortion because they are not encouraged to seek holy matrimony.
So, the reaction here to this 15-year-old being an expectant father does not seem right to me. There is no reason to act as if he is a rapist, or victim of sex abuse, or to suppose that he did not want to care for his child. It is reasonable to suspect in today’s world he would have a very hard time supporting his child though.
