Another weapon to fight climate change? Put carbon back where we found it -- We’ll have to also remove carbon from the air -- Sequestration

Getting to zero carbon emissions won’t save the world. We’ll have to also remove carbon from the air—a massive undertaking unlike anything we’ve ever done.

Scientists and entrepreneurs like Aradóttir are embarking on ambitious—and sometimes controversial—projects to remove carbon dioxide from ambient air and lock it away. In Arizona, an engineering professor shows me his “mechanical tree,” a single one of which he says may someday be able to do the work of a thousand regular trees in capturing and storing CO2. In Australia, a leading oceanographer tells me that seaweed is salvation, if only we’d help it grow in giant aqua-gardens of kelp and wakame that could harbor billions of tons of carbon dioxide.

Atop a university building in Zürich, an Uruguayan inventor with a gleam in his eye presents me with a small vial of fuel made from nothing but sunlight and air. That may be the most intriguing of all the forms of carbon capture I’ve come across

What these efforts have in common is that they are geared in the long run to drag downward a number that climate experts agree holds the key to the health of the planet. That number is the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, which for thousands of years had held stable at or a bit below 280 parts per million, until the industrial revolution kicked off in the middle of the 19th century. Today this critical number stands at some 420 parts per million—in other words, the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere has risen roughly 50 percent since 1850.

Carbon-capture proponents say that their work—to capture the main driver of climate change, radically scaled up in coming decades—will help bring this number down.

A fools errand...consider the energy needed to capture and compress the CO2, build the pipelines and inject it underground...all in the name of making green energy. What about the environmental impact of the pipelines and the hazards of transporting CO2 under high-pressure? We can’t build new pipelines to transport clean high energy natural gas or oil because of “environmental” concerns but no problem here.

Fighting climate change by killing off all vegetation which eliminates that evil oxygen, that in turn, causes forest fires, putting carbon into the atmosphere.

“Communists are very good at solving imaginary problems. Unfortunately their solutions cause real problems.”

We are no better than the ancient Egyptians who squandered 1/3 (my guess) of their resources on building pyramids and other elaborate tombs for their degenerate Kings and high aristocrats.
All based on religious superstitions.

Our developed nations have CO2 paranoia and superstitions to be satisfied. And our young are being brainwashed into these superstitions.

***** Degenerate Egyptian Kings who married their sisters.

It wouldn’t be so bad if this was just a theoretical argument. But billions of dollars will be wasted on this “green” nonsense.

That means less money will be available to fix bridges, fund medical research, etc.

2nd greatest falsehood to ever be perpetrated on the world.

What was the 1st? The Devil convincing mankind he didn't exist or the Covid-19 scam?

Not stupidity. They are counting on the ignorance of the young millenials and the COVID retarded generation that followed. Most don’t know that CO2 sinks, not rises. No idea.

A tiny bit of CO2 gets injected into the earths crust and a big governments check is written if the government is your friends. That is all this is about, how to make sure not all the carbon credits go to the 3rd world preserving the rain forests.

Just STOP!

God is in control. He controls ALL! The ocean currents, volcanic eruptions, the number of trees, the amount of co2. EVERYTHING!

STOP F****** around with nature. You’ll end up killing us all.

Wait........
