Then I don’t understand jow this is new technology. They haven’t used it for scanning prices and charging your account on your way out the door, but they have used it to sound an alarm when you walk out the door without paying.

Those are theft tags.

These are pricing tags that eliminate individual scanning of items by the consumer.

In the Fox News segment, a container of merchandise is placed in a Point of Sale bucket at checkout and everything is scanned when you push a digital button on the screen.

Much quicker check out.

IBM had this 15 years ago at the door - a whole shopping cart and instant payment.

They just had to bring RFID tag prices down.

Theft tags are not unique to each item - like the ones they’d attach to more pricey clothing.

Amazon has whole-cart scanning at their Just Walk Out stores now - at least some of them
