What no one in the sports reporting world is touching on is the main reason for this move (other than the money of course): many people don’t want to come in downtown DC. Because of the crime.
The Caps and Wizards moved from Landover to downtown DC over twenty years ago. Their home in Landover the old Capitol Center has been razed.
Atlanta seems to build new facilities every decade. I attended Braves games at the long defunct Fulton County Stadium (the Falcons played there too). The Braves have moved twice since that era. The Hawks and Flames played at The Omni. The Omni is long-gone too, followed by the Georgia Dome which had a life of how long before being replaced by the Mercedes Benz facility.
thanks ... I haven’t paid attention for a long time I guess ...
You are familiar with the area like me. Had 2 mayors which cleaned up crime and got investment in the city. They were have been displaced by the racial old dem party of Barry, which have now turned the city towards becoming a dump again.
Yep I used to live there. But still have family in the area so I still go there to visit.
