@RepThomasMassie
Here are the 118 Representatives who voted to protect your right to privacy. (Nay to FISA warrantless surveillance as part of NDAA)
We lost but it was close. We needed 143 votes (1/3) to stop FISA since they suspended the rules to bring it to the floor.

I’ll give you one: Crusty Dusty Johnson of bright blue South Dakota.
Whatever gave you that impression?
First, (starting 2nd Bush Term) the worthless GOPe was tossed out in 3 terms.
Second, the worthless GOPe was tossed in only 2 terms.
Third, the worthless GOPe will be tossed out in only 1 term next year.
No, the democrats aren’t ‘better’ it just shows you that us voters have had enough as the days of lesser evils is over. This display of the House the last generation is proof of the uniparty in action.
I’ll give you 2.
James and Lisa McClain both Michigan. James has turned to be a real disappointment he voted against Jordon too
Me too!
Me too!
Not really close—and of course they let selected members from the districts that need it to vote against whatever their latest perfidy.
At least my Rep., Chip Roy, voted to kill it.
But this is why you don’t just vote for someone with an “R” after their name - at least half are statist scum.
Since it has been implemented, I realized how horribly wrong I was. I can't go back and retroactively change my mindset, history is what it is. So that is on me, and I have come to grips with it.
But I have realized that things like the PATRIOT Act cannot be given to people as a tool. It is TOO ripe for abuse. We cannot trust ANY of our fellow humans, no matter how well intentioned they might be, to have it. Power like that corrupts, and it corrupts completely.
Personally, I would rather allow all Americans to open-carry all manner of weaponry from knives to automatic weapons, and allow us to defend ourselves, come what may.
Our country is not defending us, and instead, is abusing us.
But there are still some jackwads who don't understand Ben Franklin's admonition that "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." They don't understand we don't live in a Republic anymore, where the government utilizes its Constitutionally allocated powers to protect us, and is now using them to persecute us.
Mine voted nay.
Thune and Rounds plus Representative Johnson, all clueless in Blue South Dakota. Three amigos against the eight hundred or so thousand citizens of the State.
...but then one does have to consider who it was elected them in the first place. That’s how you know just how blue South Dakota really is.
I gave you three back in my 32. Will our fortunes ever return to normality?
Guess it will take time for that to play out.
I called S Womack on a vote. he ignored it and voted the other way and I never heard from him. They are useless and need to be primaried. I’ll vote Libertarian before voting for Dems and RINOs.

So, you think they should get a warrant to tap the communications of an terrorist who is residing in Iraq?
Mike Lee made an argument that the FISA extension within the NDAA (extend through April) could be interpreted by the Dims to extend FISA into 2025.
You know that is not the actual problem with the law as is, troll. The issue is that the government has basically used it as a blanket tool to scoop up pretty much anything they want domestically.
I’m sure that you and those you work for are extremely interested in maintaining the status quo for their own reasons.
They are actively attempting to brainwash us all into thinking we live in that worst of all governmental systems, a democracy. Even people who know better, like Ron Paul use their terminology.
For the record, I was fully opposed to the 'patriot' act in almost every particular. Got called a lot of names here on FR for it.

Then explain how you would rewrite the law to allow monitoring the communications of terrorists overseas while dealing with your issues.

I’m sure you have no idea of what you’re talking about.
Did you forget to put the sarcasm thing after your comment?
