That is a tasty burger.

Yep, and Whataburger has gone downhill since they were purchased by said investment company.

Another small step in the Californication of Idaho.

A good friend living in the Wood River region is actively considering leaving. The only positive thing about the flood of Californians is that she will sell her house and land for about 3 times what she paid 10 years ago.

No it is not THAT good, nothing is that good to wait 8 hours.

They are pretty good (we managed to get in to an InAndOut once, after about an hour’s wait)

If you want a really far superior burger (and they’ll fix it with any and all additives, toppings you like from a long menu of free ingredients), look for a Five Guys
(all fresh ingredients, the local manager took us on a tour of his facility and asked us if we could identify anything missing. We couldn’t. Turns out, No freezers. Everything (meat, bread, cheese, potatoes...) are all delivered FRESH from local suppliers every morning (which explains why the place doesn’t open until 11am).
No stale or frozen food. All fresh. Superior quality all around. Just don’t buy their gift cards, we had a very bad experience giving some of those out...and they turned out refused, were not accepted for food. We had to raise hell but eventually got our money back.
See what you think about the food, though.
But yes, the Inandout we tried was pretty good, far better than most places so I can understand folks liking it.

Culver’s kicks their butts. The In and Out I went to in San Mateo was mediocre at best. Whataburger was way better.

OMG! It gets worse every time I go there. Of all that’s around here, it is fairly quick. Always seem like a good idea. Portillo’s will be next to try.

I have relatives in California. I have been to Cali multiple times. They are big In-N-Out fans so they took me there. Twice. Totally underwhelmed. BTW, there are amazing burger places in OK. Nic’s grill is one of the best in the country. If you don’t know about it, check it out.

Not even worth an hour wait. Their burgers are a step up from McDonald’s, but IMO what really makes In-N-Out popular is that they’re still relatively inexpensive. The pricing at most of the better burger places has gotten ridiculous. If you order In-N-Out fries, order them light well done or medium well done. They’re undercooked unless you do that, and if you order them well done they’re over cooked.

About 15 minutes yesterday here in AZ!
A little long but worth it!

I enjoyed it when visiting DFW. It’s better than McDonald’s and BK, and the employees actually care about their job performance.

I wish we had them here in Chicagoland, but the taxes in IL are too insane. No business would open up here if they didn’t HAVE to.

Perhaps In and Out does what Chick-fil-A does. The first 100 people at a new restaurant get free food for a year. Thus the campers.

We have both a Tommy’s and an In-N-Out in my town. My favorite fast food burger joint was Fuddrucker’s, but they’re long gone from Southern California.

Thanks for the reply. I was stationed down in Altus AFB back in the mid-seventies for two years, but haven't been back to OK since. I'm hoping to make a cross-country trip one day (from AZ to the East) so if I run into Nic's I'll give it a try. :)

They still have a couple of Fudd's here in Arizona, but they're not the same since they modernized the dining room decor. My family loved sitting in the "Beatles booth" and I sure loved the Blue Cheese Burger.
