I see the US showing “a lot of interest” in the European war between Russia and Ukraine and also “a lot of interest” in the Middle Eastern war between Israel and Gaza. We also have our eye on Iran. And we have our eye on Taiwan in Asia. Now we have to worry about South America? Venezuela and Guyana? Do we really need to be involved everywhere?
“Do we really need to be involved everywhere?”
Particularly with a military half the size it was in 1990s and now pretty much out of ground weapons.
Today Guyana, tomorrow Surinam. If we don’t stop them there we will have to fight them here.
To your point, we are spread very thin. Meeting those increasing deployment demands eventually wear down our military readiness. With ever expanding operations the logistics, manpower, maintenance and money issues start becoming problematic at some point.
