I've read on here before that it seems odd how many times the winner is in California. Two Mega jackpot winners from the same gas station in California?
I've read these lotto tickets are sold in over 40 states. I see people waiting in line to buy these tickets. Two from the same state and same exact gas station bought the same ticket? What are the odds? I am not accusing anyone of doing anything wrong but I would like to hear more on how that happened.

If they were both quick pick it’s because the so-called randomizer is based on the computer click.
RND or rand function in some software tools
Does location and other timing factors come in to play?

Somebody probably accidentally bought two tickets with the same favorite numbers.

I have double-bought the same numbers before using the slip to fill out. Accidentally.

β Fraud?β

Not likely. What is likely is two players playing the same play slip with a player picking up (intentionally or accidentally) another personβs used play slip.
More likely would be the same player picking the same combination of numbers on multiple play slips or accidentally giving the clerk the same play-slip multiple times.

Maybe. Maybe not.
Perhaps the person split the jackpot with themselves by buying two tickets. They may have hoped for a smaller prize.
A lady in Vancouver BC bought two tickets, because she dreamed the numbers. She was only expecting $20 on each ticket, but she won the jackpot and was the only winner.

If the people who bought the tickets knew each other and just purchased tickets with the same numbers, no.
That would be a waste, though, as they could have just split the cost of a single ticket - they didn’t get any more money as the pot gets split. But some don’t think things all the way through like that.

Many people double up (or more) on the same numbers. The idea is that, should numbers win the smaller prizes, winnings are multiplied. For example, second place $1 million prize is not split like the jackpot, every winning ticket gets the full mil.
I don’t really get it, but I see people doing it.
