I don’t know what people here think about it, but I think that one of the BEST things that could be done is to take away their ability to spoof phone numbers that show up on your caller ID as from somewhere in the US when it’s really from some other place or country. Telecommunications companies actually allow this - must be some kind of revenue stream from it or some benefit. I can’t see any valid reason for it, myself.
Good point. There are so many layers that also need attention from international wire transfers to purchases of multiple gift cards, use of cashapp or paypal to transfer money to KNOWN scam accounts. Banks and retailers need to more responsible and aware.
