“Something happened at the last minute,” Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the majority leader, said on Tuesday afternoon, announcing the change in plans, without giving further explanation.”
It’s easy to figure out. There aren’t enough votes for aid yet. They haven’t bribed enough RINO’s yet. Or maybe the Dems think this time the Republicans are really serious, and they’ll let Ukraine aid go. Open borders are more important to the Dems than Ukraine.

Except for the part about bribing RINOs, I fear you are exactly right.
Republican House Speaker Johnson has promised he will not approve more Ukraine aid until Democrats agree to more Border Security.
But for radical Democrats (by which I mean the Obama wing of the party), open borders are existential and essential to their future political dominance over the USA.
Without open borders boosting Democrat city population counts and illegal votes, they cannot for long maintain majorities anywhere.
So, faced with a choice between "doing the right thing" to help Ukraine at the cost of potentially sacrificing their own political majorities, radical Democrats will not hesitate to abandon Ukraine -- most especially when they can credibly blame it on Republicans.
This has been my prediction since Day One, in February 2022.
I hope I'm dead wrong, I don't want to be right about this, but as of today, it doesn't look good for Ukraine.
