I tried playing Grand Theft Auto 4. It was way TOO realistic. I kept accidentally running pedestrians down and had to quit the game out of guilt. Friends tried telling me that that was the point of a Grand Theft Auto game, that you could do things in game that you couldn’t do in real life.
I always got upset with my son when he was purposely killing civilians in Grand Theft Auto 2.
I believe people can be desensitized to killing and violence by playing these games. Especially children. Think of those two teens who were purposely and fatally running bicyclists down and laughing about it. The young kid next door brought his game over to show us how he could rob, rape and kill hookers in his game. He thought it was cool. Worst of all, his parents bought it for him. We told him he couldn’t bring it to our house anymore.
i just saw it as Death Race 2000 but in a game where it’s all about the bodycount
