This took place in Granada Hills which is a well to do neighborhood.

Bing AI says this >>>>>

According to Neighborhoods.com, Granada Hills is an affluent residential neighborhood located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles 1. Despite being flanked by the Valley neighborhoods of Porter Ranch, Northridge, and San Fernando, Granada Hills belongs to the City of Los Angeles. The community is known for its many cul-de-sacs, tree-lined sidewalks, and multitude of reputable schools, which attract many families and students to the neighborhood. With several lush parks, hills, and the Santa Susana Mountains situated near Granada Hills, residents have several family-friendly outdoor activities to choose from 1.

While the neighborhood is at least 20 miles away from many of LA’s most popular destinations and urban amenities, it still has several shopping, dining, and cultural arts spots around. At the heart of the community, locals can run their daily errands, grab a bite to eat, or shop several stores at Granada Village, the Granada Hills Town Center, or the 24-hour North Hills Shopping Center 1.

According to Wikipedia, Porter Ranch is rated the wealthiest neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley, with Encino ranked second 2. However, Granada Hills is also known for its spacious homes with large front lawns, and while the bulk of the neighborhood’s larger homes can be found north of the freeway, more affordable dwellings can be found towards the south side 1.

No home-owner needs a magazine that holds more than a couple of rounds of ammo. That is unfair to the home invaders! As a matter of fact, a single shot firearm should be sufficient for any homeowner’s needs.

— (lots of photos)

It is the Daily Mail. There are always lots of photos even they have no bearing on the story.

Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon is more likely to prosecute the homeowner than the home invaders.

4 armed home invaders.

The answer to the question:

“why would anyone need a firearm with capacity of more than 10 rounds?”

Folks, rarely are homes invaded, randomly.

The bad guys usually have a purpose for being there. That’s not to mean that all the homeowners are doing bad stuff, it just means that there’s a reason most pick a certain house.

Could just be they followed him home and wanted his car, a la John Wick.

Who knows?

“Video from the scene shows the unnamed male homeowner being detained by police during the initial investigation, but it is not known if he has been charged.”

This is Los Angeles. Of course he’ll be charged.
