...Brittany Skoland, from Fort Dodge, was attacked by three pit bulls last Friday, leaving her in critical condition.
Police were called to the 800 block of South 16th Street in Fort Dodge at around 11:25am, by a neighbor who reported that they could hear someone yelling for help.
When an officer arrived on scene, they found a woman being mauled by three dogs.
After attempting to scare the dogs away the officer was forced to shoot each dog multiple times, killing all three. ...
Neighbor Kerri Johnson told KCCI about the horrifying scene....
'I stepped out into the driveway just to take a peek, I saw a black dog lying down on the ground, deceased, which is super sad,' he said.

Charge the owner with assault and attempted murder, convict and send them to prison. And every pitbull should be put down, no exception.

It’s what you hear from the fans of pit bulls. The no bad dogs even pits just bad owners crowd. The ones who don’t admit that attacks where flesh is torn from the body, so that amputation is necessary are characteristic of pits, as are attacks that destroy the face, the ones who believe that German Shepherds and Dobermans bite that way just as often, go “red” just as often.
I had a patient attacked by a GSD that went red, but it didn’t tear the flesh off her. Punctures, deep lacerations. Not holes, torn off limbs, face stripped off.
Southside Fort Dodge is like Southside Chicago— GHETTO. And ghetto people like those ghetto dogs. Many of the small “commuter” towns surrounding Fort Dodge specifically ban pit bulls both to keep the dangerous breeds out but also the type of trashy people that own those dogs.
Honestly, I believe that pit bulls should be classified as “exotic animals”. It should be banned within city limits. If you live in the middle of nowhere, I don’t care if you keep them. But if your kids get harmed by them, then yes, you should be charged for it.
Might be useful as guard dogs in South Africa.
