You have to understand where ganeemead is coming from.

Ganeemead is viscerally pro-Russia. He first joined FR on January 12, 2016, and his first “Russian” post was on January 22, 2016, on a thread about a Russian Insider article. His post on February 18, 2016 on a thread titled, “Vladimir Putin Is Dancing Around Us With Ease,” contains his cryptic comment: “Works for me.” His posting history from January 12, 2016 to October 15, 2021, shows many of his “Russian” or “Putin” posts. He was silent for several months; that is, until February 23, 2022, when he resurfaces on the day BEFORE most recent invasion of Ukraine. Since that time, his dominant posting activity has dealt almost exclusively with Russia and Ukraine (a country he apparently loathes).

His thread history (i.e., threads he started) is even more illuminating: The first FR thread he started was on April 30, 2016, and it was on…you guessed it: Putin. He follows that up with a thread of August 17, 2016, titled, “Fred Reed on War With Russia.” He has a vanity thread on October 2016 that contains a comment about Putin telling his military that if Hillary Clinton wins the US election Russia and the US will essentially be at war. There are several others.
His threads stopped on December 13, 2019. Then – surprise! – he resurfaces more than two years later, on February 23, 2022 (again, the day BEFORE Russia’s latest invasion of Ukraine) with a thread he started, “Does Ukraine Have Any Legal Basis As a Nation?” From then until now, his threads have been almost exclusively on Russia and Ukraine, including the thread of April 8, 2022 on the previously debunked story about the Russian capture of an American general at Mariupol, a fiction that he bought hook, line, and sinker.

He exhibits a disdain for the West and NATO, and an admiration for Russia.
