[Branding a fool.]
Those three fools need to be turned into jerky.

I thought in the west it was free range. If you don’t want livestock on your property you must fence them out.
I don't know. I am in the west, but other than a few horses, I don't see anything close to livestock in these here parts.

None of the cows complained. Maybe they thought it was funny.

It is the duty of the landowner to fence them OUT, not the cattle rancher’s to keep them out. That's the way it is here in the Oregon Outback. If you don't want stock on your land, you need to fence them out.

If you work on a ranch and you say you are castrating cows, you will most definitely be laughed at. If it’s a mixed herd, they are cattle. Never bred females are heifers. Previously bred or pregnant females are cows. Castrated males are steers. Intact males are bulls. To say anything else would label you a dude.
If you told me to gather the cows, I would do just that. The bovines I would bring in would be all older females. Everything else would be cut out. If I brought everything in under the generic “cow” creating more stress on all the animals and creating more work for everyone else I’d probably be sent home.
No rip on you, just an observation that the author was unaware.

"An experienced livestock seller estimated each of the bleached animals was worth $500 to $700 less per head. He said after checking with buyers, the cattle that would’ve been worth about $2,600 per head was instead worth about $1,850."
The guy that painted "the bear" would make an interesting neighbor.
What if the "guy" that bleached the cows, was the son of "FJB", named "Hunter"? Would the cows now be worth $500,000 each?
