Was indulging in some '90s nostalgia on YouTube and bumped into this video. The performer known as Vanilla Ice reacting to his iconic video and song Ice Ice Baby from back in the day. Posted about a month ago.
What strikes me:
1) The song is a stone cold classic, totally infectious
2) Love those dance moves, so cool in a period kind of way
3) This represents the end of the era stretching back to the '60s when we still believed in racial reconciliation and thought we were going to have a good thing together. The modern Left is actively sabotaging this possibility.
4) Vanilla Ice is a good guy. Apparently he owns a construction company now.
Might be a good guy, but this garbage was the beginning of the end of decent mainstream music.
I recall Gregg Allman as being the only “mainstream rocker” willing to call it out as complete dog squeeze, “Rap is short for crap.”
Freegards
Thank you
The OJ media insanity made me realize how corrupt and colluding the media is. They just latch onto a story and blow it out of proportion. The OJ circus opened my eyes to it. Later on we found out the media colluded to get their talking points from “journo-listers” to help obama get elected.
Anyway, seeing this reminded me of how the media latched onto Vanilla Ice at the time, and there was just no getting away from this trash. The media, and whoever controlled it, was hellbent on destroying pop music and turning it into ghetto trash. Then shortly thereafter we got gangsta crap and other assorted disgusting garbage. It all started going down the crapper with Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer.
Oh you’re about thirty years behind. The end of decent mainstream music happened in the seventies
Hey, give the man credit. He got the entire band Queen to write his opening baseline.
why do i not believe him..
Depends on the station you listened to.
Pop, yes.
Indie, punk, alternative, and heavy metal, no.
Awesome couple tearing it up to Ice Ice Baby at a swing dance competition:

And on that humorous note, I'll hit the sack. As far as I'm concerned you won the Internet today.
They were really getting off!
Modern Swing dancing, where the women dress like the men.
The male dancer was amazing. He garnered my complete attention to the detriment of his partner.
Regarding #3, 0bama is the ringleader of that mission.
But don’t underestimate mtv’s influence in this. I recall the show “yo, mtv raps”. By the 90s rap was here to stay.
Most people these days are lazy and don't seek out good new music. They expect it to be served up to them on some sort of mainstream media channel.
Well, that won't happen. If you want to hear good new music, you must seize control of your own journey.
Agree.
Does anyone know how he managed to sample so much of a massive hit by Queen? Did they have a financial arrangement?
