The OJ media insanity made me realize how corrupt and colluding the media is. They just latch onto a story and blow it out of proportion. The OJ circus opened my eyes to it. Later on we found out the media colluded to get their talking points from “journo-listers” to help obama get elected.

Anyway, seeing this reminded me of how the media latched onto Vanilla Ice at the time, and there was just no getting away from this trash. The media, and whoever controlled it, was hellbent on destroying pop music and turning it into ghetto trash. Then shortly thereafter we got gangsta crap and other assorted disgusting garbage. It all started going down the crapper with Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer.

You could see it coming in the early 80s. Blondie had the first mainstream rap song in Rapture. Then mtv was promoting urban white groups acting ghetto. Lots of graffiti in the videos which white kids thought was hip and cool. In 86 Run DMC and Aerosmith had the remake of walk this way.

But don’t underestimate mtv’s influence in this. I recall the show “yo, mtv raps”. By the 90s rap was here to stay.
