Draft dodging in "ukraine"....
they’re wise not to die for globohomo
Not everyone is suicidal
They’re going to be the only ones left.
They’ve got videos of Ukrainian women in trenches shooting it out with Russians. It’s over.
Davydov is making money off his draft-dodging, while expecting other suckers to fight in his place. Like old men and teenaged girls.
They know

Grim older Ukrainian soldiers at rally before they depart

I’m getting a distinct Spring 1945 vibe from that pic
Will anyone of them fight to save his own life, if he has no other options?
Having some cowards in the otherwise heroic population of Ukraine shouldn't be a big surprise.
The ratio of combat soldiers to combat support and combat service support in the US Army is about 1:15 or more. And though they *hate* to admit it, the myth that “every soldier is an infantryman” is obviously false.
And while CS and CSS soldiers *might* fight, it is usually because the enemy is better than expected, your forces are at least temporarily losing, and most of all, your leadership is not as good as it should be.
The flip side of this is “combat stress”. A soldier with combat stress is a casualty. They not only can’t do their job, they inhibit the ability of other soldiers to do their jobs. As often as not, it is a function of time on the battlefield.
Many realize they cannot hack battle even before they are in battle. Some can fight in a battle, but if they survive, that is it for them in combat. Some can go for a week or two, but that is it for them. Typically soldiers can last for a month or two, and some for as long as six months. Then there are a very few who seem immune to battle fatigue.
If soldiers are pushed into combat beyond their limits, their number of casualties skyrockets. They become “cannon fodder”. This is why morale is critical on the battlefield.
“Fatigue makes cowards of us all.” A LOT of CSS is based on giving soldiers “a break” from combat stress, and is proven to extend their functional time on the battlefield.
A masterpiece of CSS was in The Second Battle of Fallujah, nineteen years ago. In grueling hot temperatures, soldiers had time limits before they were rotated to cooling tents, rehydrated, fed, slept and relaxed. Thus they were able to keep up pressure on their enemy around the clock.
All the enemy had were drugs. And it showed.
—> we suddenly discovered vast populations of draft dodgers, permanent grad students, Canadian immigrants, enemy sympathizers, and homosexuals - amounting to about 90% of the allegedly males of our country.
In retrospect, having more complete info, they likely made the right choice.
And I also respect those who went.
Also a lot of men that could read the writing on the wall re:the draft, and volunteered.
Containment of communism was a noble goal. Letting mobs and congressmen set the rules of engagement was not in the best interest of achieving that goal.
If I knew joining post-Vietnam that we were fighting to expand Globohomo Supremacy, I never would have joined. We all have to rethink about what we’ve cajoled into
Highly recommend scanning through the thousands of comments to that BBC YouTube page.
Meh...the notion that anyone who didn’t want to fight in Vietnam was a coward is absurd. Sounds more like a delusion used to justify your own actions.
Physically fighting an ideology is comically stupid.
One thing stupider is believing that was the actual purpose.
—> Containment of communism
It wasn’t contained.
Stopping the spread was the same recycled theme they’ve used since.
Neocons begin and lose wars.
We sacrificed the precious blood of Americans to no noble end.
The VN wall is a sad place to realize the price we paid.
In retrospect, I’d advise our sons to do something productive for a few years.
No do I want them to go die for ukraine.
That said, for those who served honorably, they have my respect.
In the era of Nixon, Bushes and Cheneys took root.
