A litle Diatomaceous Earth on an ant pile will kill it. I think it's made up of micro sharp edges that is deadly to bugs. Yes, and can be any insect. Bedbugs, roaches, aphids in the garden. Like walking thru razor blades to a bug.
Dehydrates them.

I buy the DE food grade in 25lb bags and sprinkle it under my dog crates and furniture for flea control/prevention. It kills fleas too.
