My trap has a metal shield where the handle on top is, like most big live traps. It has been a great trap for about 20 years now. Sure helps me to humanely keep a lid on our abundant wildlife. đ đŋī¸đĻđĻĢđĻđ (have caught: squirrels,possum,groundhog,raccoon,cats).
That’s the only kind of trap for humane release. I see the cheaper traps without the handle guard and no way I’m doing that. :-)
